It's been a while since we visited this blog topic, so I thought I would use this Monday's blog to look at some wedding traditions and trends from around the world. This time we're going to Spain!

Here are some fun facts and cultural customs that will help you infuse some Spanish style into your big day.

- Did you know that black was the bride's color in traditional Spanish weddings? Both her dress and veil would be black on her big day. Although some still sport the black veil, this custom fell out of trend with Spanish brides, as now white is the color of choice (The Ring Bearer).

- It's just you and your man in a Spanish ceremony. No bridal parties here (The Ring Bearer)!
- Brides in Spain have a custom similar to our American bouquet toss. The bride will give each of her female guests a small pin or corsage and all the single gals are asked to wear theirs upside down. The first to lose to her corsage will be the next to get married (Paradores)!
- Orange Blossoms are symbols of a happy, fulfilling life and are the big wedding flower in Spain (The Traditions of a Spanish Wedding).
- Rings are also a big symbol in Spanish weddings, with just two main differences. 1) Engagement rings aren't as common as they are in the States and 2) Rings are worn on the right hand instead of the left (Paradores).

If you want to go all out, a destination wedding in Spain is always an option! It's warm, beautiful, lively and full of romance.
