The Wedding Story of Maggie and Will Precup

Attending the same high school but different colleges, Maggie and Will officially started dating going into their sophomore year of college after running into each other while on a break at home.
 

Ever since, Will has held the keys to Maggie’s heart. She says, “I have been riding and showing horses since I was five years old, and the barn continues to be a huge part of my life. I am usually at the barn six days a week and often travel out of town for horse shows. Knowing how important the barn is to me, Will proposed on December 11th, 2016 at the barn. He transformed our hayloft into a beautiful setting with flowers, lights and the whole nine yards! He was even able to get some of my best friends in on the proposal which made it even more special.”
 

She adds, “Our very first step was to secure a venue. We had a general idea of the vibe we wanted the wedding to have, but let the feeling of the venue help guide us in selecting the detailed pieces.” While the couple looked at various venues including everything from barns to big ballrooms, they knew the Broadmoor Country Club was the right fit. "The venue was the perfect size for our guest list, and it has a very classic feeling which we really enjoyed," says Maggie.
 

The overall feel soon took shape as classic and understated elegance. “Overall, we used a combination of our own ideas combined with inspiration from Pinterest. We were very fortunate to have my mom’s assistance as well, who really helped us gather different ideas,” she says.

Maggie discovered her Stella by Evelyn Bridal dress at Leena’s Bridal in Carmel, IN. “I thought that I wanted something completely different and tried on about 10 dresses at a different store before visiting Leena’s,” says Maggie. “The dress was absolutely stunning, and was the only dress that made my mom and sister cry, so I knew that it was the one.”

Maggie says, “Our bouquets were comprised of various roses (Sahara, Quicksand and ivory). The short centerpieces were strictly hydrangeas and the tall centerpieces were a mix of lavish hydrangeas, various roses from our bouquets and greenery.”
 

 

Advice From the Bride

“It is worth pushing your budget to hire great professionals!” says Maggie. “Our photographer, DJ and florist were all at the upper end of our budget but they were instrumental in helping our day run smoothly. The quality of their work was outstanding and, because they were all so good at their jobs, we did not need to hire a day of coordinator.”

 

 

What we Love

This wedding was undoubtedly full of many special touches, but one detail sure does touch our hearts! “Before the ceremony my bridesmaids and I took pictures at the barn and I was able to take pictures with my horse, Sam. I have owned him since I was in high school, took him out of state to college with me, and he has been with me through building a career and relationship with Will, so it was really special to be able to include him in a small way on our big day. Seeing him also helped calm any lingering nerves before seeing Will at the altar. Otherwise, there were some small things here and there throughout the day that were unique, but the best part was being able to celebrate my husband.”
