A Boujee, Motel Style Shoot Inspired by the Glamour of Schitt's Creek's Alexis Rose

Inspired by the character Alexis Rose from Schitt's Creek, Ashlyn from Ashlyn Peters Photography wanted to create a style shoot to show what Alexis's wedding may have looked like. Ashlyn says, "I'm a fan of the show, and when I noticed a nearby look-a-like motel, I dreamed of having a solo bridal shoot there. I thought of the idea/concept and worked with an amazing small team of all-women vendors to create something that truly became my passion project."
 

Despite the glamorous feel, one of the main goals of the team was to create an affordable budget for the shoot. One of the tricks was using the motel to show you can really have a wedding anywhere. "Shooting within the confines of a motel is super challenging in itself," Ashlyn shares. "I also shot this project in January, but tried really hard to not make it look like it was done then." We think it looks just like the Rosebud Motel from Schitt's Creek!
 

Aside from making the motel seem like five-star lodging, Ashlyn also had another difficulty with the shoot. "Red is bold, and frankly... a challenge to edit. So I chose this knowing it would be a challenge for me personally, to push my skill and refine my art," Ashlyn explains. We think she did an amazing job and love how those bright reds pop off the images!
 

Alexis would definitely know all the hot trends in the wedding world, so this boujee-on-a-budget shoot couldn't happen without including all the popular fads right now. We love that many elements of the shoot center around the iconic last name of the main family, Rose. The abundance of roses in this shoot amp up the romanticism of the motel room while the rose colored drinks and rock candy elevate the elegance and fun. 
 

Now let's look at that dress! The elegance of the cape from The Frock Bridal House and the glamorous simplicity of this dress are everything Alexis Rose would love. There's a vintage feel to the dress, especially with the addition of that bright red lip. The bridal model is actually a makeup artist, so she was able to style her whole look, which made for some fun shots with her and the compact on the bed. We love the addition of the golden headband and beautiful flower earrings. And the high ponytail is classic Alexis!
