2022 Style Shoot Design Contest Submission: A Very Peri Sleeping Beauty Shoot in South Bend

The creative team for this shoot wanted to design it in a way that was unique. They chose our "Inspired by Stories" theme from our 2022 Style Shoot Design Contest, sponsored by AAYS Event Rentals, and took the fairytale route. "We took Sleeping Beauty, a familiar fairytale and turned it into a modern, ethereal wedding style. From the color scheme of pinks, blues and purples inspired by Aurora’s 'Make it pink. Make it blue' dress," Brittany Proctor, owner of Couture Confections LLC, shares. "We wanted this to be different than your everyday fairytale wedding."
 

The Pantone Color of the Year, Very Peri, makes an appearance all around this scene. From the stationery to the bride's bouquet and dress, which is the inspiration for this shoot. Brittany explains, "The wedding dress was definitely the inspiration for this shoot. A whimsical, floral ballgown needs a fairytale wedding to go with it." In fact, Brittany designed and created this one-of-a-kind dress with this shoot in mind. This floral print gown is covered with custom-made sparkle chiffon. It also comes with a detachable floral neckline and sleeves that add an extra air of elegance to this look. The team decided to style the bride's hair in a braided bun and keep her makeup natural for this shoot. We love how the dress pops with the groom's forest green suit!
 

The elegance of the castle-like venue really speaks for itself, and the team didn't feel the need to use a lot of décor. However, they did create a sweetheart table for the bride and groom with some rentals from contest sponsor, AAYS Events Rentals. "We got the beautiful table settings from AAYS Event Rentals. They were so helpful and let us play around with different plates, glasses and linens until we landed on the perfect combination," Brittany raves. 
 

With the floral dress that the bride is wearing for this shoot, the team needed to find flower arrangements that matched. They settled on ones that included anemones, hydrangeas and roses in pink, white, purple and blue to match the theme of the shoot. We think they were the perfect addition to make this shoot pop. The dress and florals were such an integral part of the shoot, they even inspired the stationery!
 

Take a look at that cake! It's the perfect confection for this style shoot. The three-tier light blue cake is coated in edible golden lace designs that makes it even more decadent. The florals tie the cake to the whole Sleeping Beauty theme and back to the bride's dress, too. We also love the addition of the two white macarons at the top of the cake for the bride and groom to enjoy!
