After meeting on the Facebook dating app, Peter asked Angela to make it "o-fish-all" during a slow dance on their vacation for two near Shawnee National Forest.

Angela did plenty of research before she went dress shopping. In fact, she took photos with her of the dresses she liked on the salon's website. She ended up not getting a dress from one of the images but did find exactly what she wanted from one of the floor models! And we think she looks absolutely stunning!

Although Peter and Angela weren’t sure where to begin their planning, they did know the venue was most important to them. Friends tried to encourage them to pick a date first, but they decided to see what the venue had available before picking their date. Once they had the venue, Google searches helped them a lot, but it was their love for fishing that inspired them most. Angela explains, “We are very big into fishing. We incorporated it by doing fishing-related favors and treats.”

Though Angela and Peter weren’t sure where to begin with the wedding, everything seemed to work itself out. Angela says, “Our choices were mainly made by reviews of others.” They found their photographer through Facebook recommendations, and the incredible officiant, Elizabeth from At-The-Altar, was found on a Thumbtack by Peter, who checked reviews before asking Angela for approval.

Their fishing treats pair swimmingly with this cake! The whole treat endeavor was a family effort. Angela’s sister-in-law Karen helped Angela a lot with the wedding decor. “She printed label stickers for the tin buckets I used,” Angela recalls. “I collected sticks from our fishing adventures and used those to make mini fishing poles (with real hooks) and put gummy worms on for bait.”

What We Love

Peter and Angela had a lot of help from their family and friends. The bridesmaids and Angela’s sister-in-law helped with the party favors, Angela’s son assisted her in making chocolate-covered pretzel fishing rods, and Angela’s mom made the bouquet, boutonnieres, and the swag for the gazebo.

Advice from the Couple

Peter says to enjoy every moment of the wedding. “It goes by in an instant,” Peter explains.

Angela’s advice is to do the wedding how you want. “Remember, it's your day! You and your spouse. It's not for anyone else. Don't second guess your choices. If you're worried about someone not liking something, too bad. It's what you and your spouse want. Make it special for you!” Angela encourages.
