Liza and Brent played together on their co-ed softball team--so getting engaged was a home run! Liza says, “Brent proposed at our favorite cider mill, Uncle Johns. We went there on our first date and made it a tradition to go back every year. One fall, he suggested we invite our families to tag along. I didn’t think too much of it as we are a very close family and do a lot together. While we were waiting to take a picture in front of the corn maze, my mom pretended to hit the wrong button (she is not very tech-savvy) which prompted me to go fix it. When I turned around to get back in the picture, Brent was down on one knee. It was absolutely perfect.”
Liza instantly knew the aesthetic she wanted for her wedding. She even dubbed the stye, “county glam.” Liza explains, “I love glitter and all things that sparkle. I am the only daughter in our family out of four and grew up living in the country, so I wanted to stay true to my roots.” We adore that dress--thanks for the awesome style, Becker's Bridal!
The venue was picked because of its size--with lots of friends and family, Liza and Brent knew they wanted to include everyone on their special day! We love all these fun shots captured by Amanda Steffke Photography!
What we love
We love all the little details Liza incorporated into their big day. She says even the wooden centerpieces, doughnut holders and chandeliers were all handpicked! Liza says, “My poor husband is afraid of heights, but I had him hang the lights for me because I wanted the place to sparkle and it did. I made sure Brent and I were able to sneak away during the reception with our photographers/videographers to breathe and soak in the whole day. It goes by so fast and we both really appreciated that time.”
Advice from the couple
Liza says it’s important to set aside time for just the two of you! “The day goes by so fast and you’re never alone so let your photographer pull you away and enjoy a moment with just the two of you.”
