This Las Vegas Elopement Style Shoot Seamlessly Goes from Desert to City

Photos ByAlexandria Blake

Photographer Alexandria Blake decided to try her hand at elopement-style photography. She planned an elaborate trip to Las Vegas to take pictures of a couple as an elopement styled shoot. Setting out on a trip to Nevada, Alex had the idea of a stunning desert wedding shoot with the brilliant and colorful streets of Las Vegas as the reception scene.

The main difficulty with what Alex had in mind was the windy and hot desert conditions. It's hard to control how your couple and photos look when you are battling sweat and spirals of dirt swirling around them and messing up their looks. The team was also in a race against the daylight. "The sun sets so fast!" Alex explains. However, they were able to create a beautiful shoot that perfectly matched Alex's vision.

That stunning ceremony dress was brought by the team. "We brought the dress with us," Alex shares. "I wanted contrast from the desert with the sparkle." Since contrast was the idea behind the whole shoot, the ceremony dress was the perfect addition. We love the way the setting sun allows the dress to shine while the color and cut keeps the bohemian desert look alive. The reception dress is the perfect look for the streets of Las Vegas. With a funky cut and plenty of tulle, this dress is the embodiment of fun and quirkiness!

The team mostly wanted the scene to be reminiscent of your stereotypical bohemian elopements, so they stuck to neutral colors that would contrast well with the desert. They also chose to use dry florals for their flower arrangements, but the flowers were not your standard boho colors. The ceremony bouquet was a mix of cool tones to help contrast with the warm tones of the desert while the reception bouquet was bright and colorful to blend with the flashiness of Las Vegas at night.
