A Magical Marquette, Michigan Garden Celebration: The Real Wedding of Madison and Tim Byczek

When Madison introduced herself to her across-the-hall neighbor, Tim, during his freshman year of college, she didn't expect she'd be walking down the aisle to him one day. Their first date took them to Presque Isle Park in Marquette, and two years later Tim proposed to Madison there in the gazebo on a rainy night.
 

"I’d like to think that we had a pretty mutual understanding for what each of us wanted on our wedding day. We wanted it to be simple and rustic," Madison explains. Pinterest helped Madison get a vision of what she wanted so she could personalize it to her and Tim's tastes. Where they didn't agree was the venue. Tim wanted an outdoor one, but Madison was in favor of an indoor venue. When COVID complications caused them to move venues, Tim got his wish. Both Madison and Tim ended up loving the Nagelkirk Gardens, and the staff was super helpful in planning their big day!
 

Visiting a bridal show in 2019 allowed Madison to connect a few of the vendors that collaborated to make their wedding a success. That's where Madison found their photographer. "Her photos and videos were beyond perfection and I just knew at that very moment that was who I wanted to have capture our wedding day," Madison raves. However, the officiant came from a little closer to home. Madison asked her cousin to officiate the wedding since he had been such a large part of her life!
 

Madison thought she had a general idea of what she might want when she went dress shopping. She admits, "I had no idea what I was looking for but had some 'guidelines' of what I thought I would like; no lace and has to have straps. Turns out, I was really wrong." With the help of her mother and soon-to-be mother-in-law, Madison walked out of the store with a dress that had lots of lace and was off-the-shoulder. We think she looks show-stopping in the dress she chose!
 

 

What We Love 

After beginning planning for their big wedding in 2019, the world took a turn and their plans began to change. Luckily, friends, family and kind vendors were there to help them navigate the turbulent time. "Those two years felt like two months," Madison confesses. "Our amazing venue gave us a layout of everything needed to have a successful wedding day at their venue. Tim and I worked to check the boxes from the list they provided." 
 

 

Advice from the Couple

Madison shares, "The advice we have for couples at the beginning of their wedding planning journey is to put together a timeline of things to get done and when they need to be done by. The time between engagement and wedding day feels like forever but it goes by a lot quicker than you'd expect."
