Katie says of her now husband, “We actually were born two days apart and attended Purdue University the same four years, but we didn’t meet until age 25, through eHarmony!” Jeremy proposed on their one year anniversary after eating at their fave restaurant and going for a hike.

The couple selected Mustard Seed Gardens as they wanted a laid-back vibe for their reception. Katie says, “They were amazing and went above and beyond with planning out details and decorations. There was a blizzard on our wedding day, but Mustard Seed had people shoveling the snow throughout the reception so everything was cleared.”

Katie says of her mermaid cut dress, “I loved it and have never felt more beautiful in my whole life.”

What We Love

Katie says, “We love the song ‘When I’m Married’ by Wilder Adkins. A friend painted that on a door, and we had it displayed on the window. I loved not doing a first look as well. I was so nervous and excited when I saw Jeremy, my hands shook so bad I couldn’t even light the unity candle! He had a big, goofy smile on his face throughout the whole ceremony, and I think our pictures reflect the emotions we felt that day. We also loved being surrounded by our closest family and friends. It snowed 10 inches on our March wedding day, but we still had friends and family drive or fly in from all places to celebrate our marriage. We are so thankful.”

Advice From The Bride

“Plan a day that reflects you and your fiance’s values,” urges Katie. “Our day was so beautiful and meaningful to us. The whole day just felt so much like us. I love being able to look back at pictures and think ‘what a beautiful beginning to our marriage!’. At the same time, be okay with things not going how you envisioned! I certainly didn’t picture 10 inches of snow on a March Saturday, but I wouldn’t trade anything about our day for the world.”
